Project Name – Environmental Closure Drilling
Location – Hidden Valley Mine Site, PNG
Overview –
- Drill and Sample upstream and downstream wall, intersect foundation on both the Main and Saddle dam tailings storage
Drilling was separated into two primary sections:
- Section One – Sonic drill 100mm x 150mm sampled and cased drill holes and install 50mm standpipe piezometers nested with vibrating wire piezometers
- Section Two – Sonic drill 100mm x 150mm sampled and cased drill holes and install nested vibrating
wire piezometers
- All upstream drilling was conducted utilising the DRY sampling and casing method
- All downstream drilling was conducted utilising the dry sampling and wet casing method
- Drilling was part of the environmental closure assessment on behalf of one mine partner
- Drilling depths ranged from 15m to 95m
Project Name – Olympic Dam
Location – Olympic Dam Mine Site, SA
Overview –
- Drill and Sample tailings dam wall, intersect foundation to ascertain any environmental impact due to radioactive waste, Insitu testing for structural defects
- Sonic drill 100mm x 150mm sampled and cased drill holes and install 50mm standpipe piezometers for ongoing monitoring
- All upstream drilling was conducted utilising the DRY sampling and casing method
- Drilling was part of the environmental and structural assessment
- Drilling depths ranged from 30m to 50m
Project Name – Lihir PH15 Expansion
Location – Lihir Island, PNG
Overview –
- Drill and Sample pit wall, intersect foundation to ascertain slip prone zones, Insitu testing for structural defects
- Sonic drill 100mm x 150mm sampled and cased drill holes and install nested vibrating wire piezometers
- Sonic drill 100mm x 150mm sampled and cased drill holes and install inclinometers
- All drilling was conducted utilising the DRY sampling and wet casing method
- Drilling was part of the structural assessment for pit expansion
- Drilling depths ranged from 20m to 150m
